you seem to have found yourself in a dark place, it is quite a long way from home. the ground is hard, and you can hear nothing but the clicking of your own claws against stone beneath your paws. the chilly wind bites at your ears, the sensation of breathing down your neck. you have a distinct feeling you are in the wrong place.do you wish to keep going?
f o l l o w - m e
the further you travel, the colder and more unwelcoming it becomes. the trees go higher than your eyes can, and if you listen closely, you can almost hear a whisper- no, whispers- three of them. they are watching you, they are listening to you. what are they speaking? who is speaking it? most importantly... do you speak back?
w e l c o m e
you have spoken to the voices, and they have spoken back to you. all at once, they call to you.welcome. welcome. welcome.
join us. join us. join us.it appears you have a choice to make.
f l o o d c l a n
have you braved the river to find yourself all the way here, traveler? impressive as that may be... you should turn back, we do not take kindly to strangers around here...oh? what is that you say? you traveled through a dark and dangerous forest to follow the whispers that guided you here...? well, if that's the case... perhaps we will hear you out.this is floodclan, a collection of the strongest and most feared warriors around the lake. over the generations, we have mastered the arts of living in places weaker cats would find unsuitable. the trees are so tall, we do not often see the sky, and the river is unpredictable, she floods whenever she sees fit. it is not for the faint of heart, but it has made us strong.our clan has been given the precious gift of life, and every day we show appreciation to those who gave it to us. we take our reverence of the Starless Place extremely seriously. we live our lives strictly by their code, and we do as they say- no matter how hard it may be. this can be treacherous, the Starless Place can be enigmatic- lesser warriors are often unable to do this- those warriors are not welcome here. if you are not prepared to take on the burden of unwavering faith and loyalty in the dark, this is not the place for you. but, if you are willing to follow this path, our clan is open to you.

oh, a traveler? on stormclan territory? oh, you should not have come here... come on, we've gotta get you out of here before they find you! follow me!... alright, we're here. we've made it. sorry about that, here in stormclan, most cats are quite loyal to the Starless Place not all of us follow them as closely as my clanmates do though... i probably shouldn't be telling you this, but you seem like a trustworthy cat, so don't make me regret this...there's something happening, down here. there was once a great warrior, before the Starless Place rose to power. his name was Firestar, and he fought on behalf of StarClan he was a good, and noble cat, who fought against those tyrants in the Starless Place. it is against our code, but some of us here in stormclan come down here sometimes, to show our devotion to the rightful rulers of our clans. it isn't all bad, here, though. we have a beautiful territory, and plenty of clanmates. we are the best hunters around the lake, and are descended from many of the noblest warriors in our history.if you wish to stay in this clan, you will have to adapt. you will pledge fealty to the Starless Place. you may even believe it, eventually. or, you could join warriors like me. it is a scary life, at times, but if you are willing to join us, stormclan would be happy to have you.

hm? oh, a traveler on the ground! you don't smell like any of the other clans, you best get up here before any of them arrive!you poor thing, you probably had to walk through all those horrible cats to make it here! don't worry, now, you're safe here in the trees. you might notice that our clan does not keep our paws on the ground- and that we live surrounded by abandoned twoleg dens. here in skyclan, we do not follow the Starless Place like the other clans around the lake. our beliefs mean much to us, but unfortunately, the other clans have taken it upon themselves to target us for it. however, skyclan is the most ancient clan of us, and for generations we have mastered living up in trees- it has protected us from all threats below us.long ago, our clan was on the brink of disaster, nearly lost forever. a great cat called Firestar and his mate, Sandstorm, had saved us from destruction. skyclan owes them a great debt of gratitude. now, the clans that once belonged to those two and their families are in danger. skyclan has vowed to repay the debt we owe to Firestar and StarClan by fighting off the scourge of the Starless Place. ... even if they don't want us to.we do not have much, here in skyclan. we must hide our faith from the other clans, and they are often fighting against us, hoping for our destruction. however, no matter what they say, skyclan are the most noble, and accepting cats around the lake. we care for each other unlike the others, and if you would like to join us, we will do whatever we can for you.

if you have found a home for yourself amongst the lake clans, you must familiarize yourself with their ways. please, learn their codes, and their laws.
once you have learned the ways of the clan, you may join their world... are you ready to take your final steps?
t h e - w a r r i o r - c o d e
you wish to be a warrior? i see... please, familiarize yourself with the code which warriors live their lives by, it is necessary if you wish to live amongst them. these laws were given to the clans by the Starless Place themselves, to break these laws is to commit treachery against your clan and your rulers.loyalty is of utmost importance; fight only on the side of your clan, and furthermore, your ancestors.a true warrior does not align itself with the enemies of the Starless Place.a leader's word is clan law.a warrior rejects any life that does not follow clan law.in times of war, an honorable warrior does whatever they must to defend their clan, even at the cost of life.the cats who provide the clan eat first; those that cannot provide for themselves eat after.a kit must be at least 3 moons old to begin training.a deputy, and subsequently leader, must be approved of by the Starless Place.a clan that can not sustain itself can, and will, be put out of its misery by the other clans.a clan leader may enforce any punishment they see fit upon a codebreaker.

this forest is not home to the clans alone, in fact, many cats live just outside of our territory. some of them are no threat, though some of them are quite fiercer than one would think. as a member of the clans, you must know your neighbors very well, you never know when you will need an ally...The Sisters are a traveling group of she-cats who sometimes visit the lake. once upon a time, they did a great service to the clans- and for that, many leaders throughout history have allowed them to settle temporarily near the clans without a problem. some of their cats are gifted with the ability to see spirits that have not yet passed onto the afterlife, while others have the gift of communication with the earth itself. once their tom-kits turn six moons old, they are sent to wander the earth by themselves and find homes of their own. for this reason, sometimes the gifts of The Sisters find their way into the clans, when their tom-kits choose to join a clan.Mustang and her mate, Persimmon are two mollies that live in one of the abandoned twoleg nests outside of SkyClan territory. they stay out of every cat's way, so you need not worry about them. however, they sometimes harbor passing loners and rogues who will not be as friendly as they are- so it's best to avoid their den if you cross it. rumor has it that Persimmon is a gifted healer, willing to help a sick or injured traveler... though, most clan cats do not bother with such things. The Lights in the Mist are a dangerous group of cats, best to be avoided if you come across them. they live near the Moonpool, and although they are small in numbers- they have made a vow of vengeance upon our clans. when StarClan was defeated, cats who refused to renounce them as their rulers were exiled from the clans. however, many of them chose to stay close, and they formed this group of cats. their descendants are still loyal to the fallen ruler, and harbor anger towards our clans. interaction with these cats is forbidden.

you wish to know our history? well, i do not blame you, it is important to know the stories of the grounds you walk on. very well. this is the tale our our clans, listen carefully, as it has been given to us by our rulers...long ago, there were four clans around the lake. even longer before that, there were five. they lived and died by a code taught to them by their ancestors, a group of cats who called themselves StarClan. the warriors revered StarClan greatly, how could they not? they were the spirits of their loved ones, and they claimed to know all of the answers. so, the clans listened to their prophecies, and their omens, and their code, for many many moons, more than any cat could count.however, under StarClan, the clans were at war. for, as much as they claimed to be an all-knowing, all-powerful group of deities, StarClan was nothing more than dead warriors claiming to know more than live ones. but, despite this, the clans followed them without question, like lemmings off a cliff into war, famine, flood, and death.many cats in their lifetime challenged StarClan and their code. as punishment for defying their overlords, when they died, they were sent to the Starless Place, and went down in history as treacherous villains who should be feared and hated- all for going against StarClan. but even in death, these cats did not give up hope for saving the clans from the tyranny under their ancestors.however, StarClan had their own weapons in their arsenal. there were three blessed warriors in one clan- with powerful abilities; Lionblaze, Jayfeather, and Dovewing. and even then, there was a foruth warrior. he did not have special powers, or any gifts from his ancestors. in fact, he was nothing more than a former kittypet who had risen to leadership- and was revered as nearly a god amongst the clans. he was an orange-colored tom, like fire, and for that, he was called Firestar.but, no matter how strong they may be, the Starless Place was not going to allow the Three and Firestar to intimidate them into backing down. bravely, the Starless Place and their allies marched into battle.however, right before the battle started, something unpredicted had occurred. one of their strongest fighters, Ivypool betrayed the Starless Place, and turned all of their strongest living warriors against them... all but one. Breezepelt, even when his allies deserted him, stood loyal to his mentor, Brokenstar, and for this, he would be rewarded.at one point, during the battle, Hawkfrost had finally caught up to his traitorous apprentice, Ivypool, he had her in his sights, and he was prepared to kill her for her crimes... but something curious happened. in that exact moment, a cat called Hollyleaf, had leapt between the two, sacrificing her own life in order to save Ivypool.we do not know much, about the slain warrior, only that she was strong, she was loved, and more than anything... she was foolish enough to put another cat's life ahead of her own.eventually, Firestar had been gotten a hold of, by none other than the Starless Place's great ruler, Tigerstar. it was the battle that was going to end this whole war, no matter who died- and someone surely would. the battle seemingly went on for forever, just as it seemed one cat had the upper hand, another came out on top. over, and over again, it seemed as if the battle would never end. it seemed that this was the way it was meant to be, the final battle between the icons of StarClan and the Starless Place.or at least, that's how it seemed.but, foolish StarClan, foolish Firestar... didn't they know nothing was ever as it seemed?after all, if StarClan got to have supernaturally powerful warriors on their side...the Starless Place didn't have to play fair either.from behind him, three warriors ambushed Firestar, finally putting a stop to the battle, leaving him dead on the ground.and with their hero dead, the flame extinguished... the war was finally over.the three blessed warriors from StarClan were offered special places among the new rule. two of them refused, the cowardly Dovewing ran away, reportedly to live among twolegs as a kittypet. Jayfeather refused to step down from his healer role, and was exiled from the clans along with the other healers for their strong, spritual connection to the old rule. the only one who chose to stay was Lionblaze, who insisted that he stay with his mate, who was expecting kits. promising his clan that he would bring StarClan back to power, Lionblaze rebelled against the Starless Place for quite some time... though, over time, he learned that the path without the stars was the right one, and he soon adopted the title of Lionshade, the first leader of the new rule.eventually, the four clans, under the rule of the Starless Place became less divided, once StarClan was out of their lives, and four became two. thunderclan and windclan became StormClan, led by brothers Lionshade and Breezepelt. and shadowclan and riverclan became FloodClan, led by Minnowshade and Icewing. years later, the former fifth clan, SkyClan led by Sharpstar and Hawkwing joined them once more by the lake, after hearing how they prosper under new rule.the clans were gifted with a new code, a new life, and new leadership, and freedom from StarClan.this is the story of our clans.

you wish to become a prophet? what a rare gift you must have... only the most devoted of warriors get to take on the role of speaking directly to the Starless Place. that being said, like a warrior, a prophet has their own set of rules they must follow- and they are quite a serious commitment, please, make sure you are able to commit to the role before taking it....a potential prophet must be approved of by both the current prophet and the Starless Place.before assuming the role of a prophet, one must train as an acolyte until the death of the current prophet. the acolyte will bear the apprentice's suffix -paw until the death of their mentora prophet or acolyte may not take a mate or kits, as to not disrupt their connection with the Starless Place.the role of the prophet is lifelong, one may not retire nor step down, the only way to resign is in disgrace, which will be accompanied by exile.once per half-moon, the prophets of all clans, excluding acolytes, will meet at a neutral location to interpret omens and messages.unless given explicit permission by the clan leader or the Starless Place, omens and messages are not to be shared with any cat other than fellow prophets, acolytes, and clan leaders.if a prophet is to die without taking on an acolyte, and a cat wishes to take on the role, regardless of age or current status in the clan, they will be presented to the Starless Place. if they are accepted, they will immediately become a prophet without ever having gone through training.if a prophet is to die without taking on an acolyte, and there are no cats who wish to take the role, the clan leader will appoint the oldest kit currently still in the nursery, or the youngest warrior apprentice, will be presented to the Starless Place. if they are accepted, they will immediately become a prophet without ever having gone through training.

GENERAL INFORMATIONRemember, this world takes place in the distant future of the canon clans! Although much has changed, much has stood the same, so if you wonder 'Can I do this?', remember that many of the same rules apply for naming, appearance, etc!NAMINGNames work, as they would in canon Warriors, with the same prefix-suffix system! Names are somewhat more traditional in FloodClan and StormClan, but that doesn't mean you aren't allowed to make names a bit stranger/names that haven't been used in the series! SkyClan names are somewhat less traditional.SkyClan cats will allow ex-kittypets, loners, and rogues to keep their original names, but FloodClan and StormClan will not make this allowance. Now that the Starless Place has taken control of the clans, the -Star suffix for leaders, which references StarClan is now no longer in use! Leaders are given the suffix -shade.Other names referencing StarClan (such as -pool, referencing the moonpool, Silver- referencing Silverpelt, or Fire- after Firestar), are still in use, but are much more likely to be heard in SkyClan than in StormClan or FloodClan!APPEARANCEAlthough cats do not have to be perfectly genetically accurate, they should at least be somewhat realistic! It doesn't matter if they have a unique marking (i.e, a 'heart marking' on their chest), either.Cats of every shape and size live in each clan, but you could surely take inspiration from the canon clans, as these cats are their descendants! So, if it helps, one could recall that WindClan cats were typically sleek and skinny when designing a StormClan cat, or that many RiverClan warriors had blue-gray fur when designing a FloodClan cat! However, you do not need to follow these at all, as cats can look like anything in any clan!STORY/PERSONALITYA character's personality is shaped by their experiences, so feel free to develop your character's history in order to help you determine what they're like! However, when writing your character's history, try not to include anything that would affect everyone in the game, such as writing a prophecy centered around your character. Things like that will come into play further into the story, and you will have more than enough opportunities to establish your character's importance in the story!ADOPTABLESIf you don't have any ideas for your character, we have come up with several characters that people can apply to play which come with pre-established personalities and backstories! Playing as an adoptable does not mean that we are in control of your character, though! Once you have the character, you are in control of what happens to them in the future, it's more like we've set up a starting point for your character!MISC.And, if you need help figuring out your character, feel free to reference this character creation template made for the rp!

We have a set of rules for this RP which will be adhered to and taken seriously- a person who breaks these rules will be spoken to by one of the admins, and potentially kicked out from the game.If a player notices anyone violating these rules, they are encouraged to tell an admin!GENERAL RULES1) Be kind and respectful of others. This should go without saying but none of the admins will tolerate bigotry, and we are welcoming of people of all races, genders, sexualities, etc.
Violation of this rule can result in an immediate ban.2) If another player is uncomfortable with the topic of conversation, in or outside of the game, one is expected to immediately change the topic and if asked delete the message.3) This game will be 18+, and if you are found to be lying about your age, you will be banned!4) Despite the 18+ rule, the server is strictly SFW, please keep NSFW jokes or anything such as that under a spoiler tag, and keep NSFW roleplay out of the game entirely.ROLEPLAY RULES1) In roleplay, you control your character alone! Anything that your character does to another player's character can not be decided by you entirely. The game is collaborative, and that means other people get a say in what happens to their characters!2) Replies do not need to be especially long, but they should be at least two or three sentences at a minimum! It is a 'literate' roleplay, so everything should be written in a paragraph format.3) Characters are to be played with respect- any disabled warriors should be written with respect and care, and racist design tropes are prohibited and are to be avoided at all costs (i.e., feathers behind ears).4) We understand that life happens and that many things will be more important than roleplaying! If you plan on taking an especially long break or leaving the game altogether, try to let the admins know so we can give your characters a conclusion within the story, or even allow them to be played by another player if you're comfortable with that idea!5) Several topics will not be allowed in the roleplay by default! As of now, these topics include NSFW topics of any kind, racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, suicide, and self-harm.
